Venue HighlightsOn entering The Independent ("Independent") you step in to a 100 year old building that has been fully restored to it's former glory.
For the majority of the 20th century, The Independent was an important and influential part of Sydney's theatre culture.
The main lobby, and Foyer bar areas are perfect for corporate client entertainment or private parties.
A recent 1.5m refurbishment of the Auditorium has resulted in a magnificent blackwood floating thrust stage, state of the art audio visual equipment and flexible theatrical lighting. On the upper level the 92 square meter Seaborn Room with its high ceiling, antiq LocationSituated at North Sydney opposite Stanton Library, between Ridge and McLaren Streets. A Council car park in Ridge Street currently offers early bird parking for entry between 9.30am and departure after 3.30pm. Eight hour meter parking is available in Ridge Street at reasonable cost.
Public transport buses from North Sydney Station, Mosman, Netural Bay, Cammeray or Northbridge stop opposite the Independent.
